Sink Or Float?

Equipment:
  • Plastic Container
  • Water 3/4
  • Table salt
  • Teaspoon
  • Eyedropper
  • Clay
Instructions:
  1. Fill the container 3/4 full with water.
  2. Put a small piece of clay around the bottom of the eyedropper. DO NOT BLOCK THE OPENING!
  3. Float the eyedropper in the water.
  4. Now squeeze the bulb of the dropper to let the air out one drop at a time, testing after each drop to see if the dropper will sink.
  5. Once the dropper sinks, stir in teaspoons of salt into the water one at a time - until it floats again.
  6. Record how many teaspoons of salt it took to make the eyedropper float again.
It took 11 teaspoon of salt to make the eyedropper float again.

Hypothesis: Even a little piece of clay will just make the eyedropper sink in fresh or salt water.

We carried out a Science investigation to find out what affect adding salt to water would have on an object that was weighted down in water.

The purpose why we did this experiment was to see adding salt to the water will make the eyedropper float again if it sunk.

Special To Me!

My mum is a kind, loving and special person to the people she knows.
When people are sad my mum is always there for them especially for the people she loves and those that love her back.
She’ll also try to make them feel better by dancing, singing or having a laugh with them.
My mum is also a person you can trust with things that are really important to you.
If you meet my mum, she will treat you as her own daughter or son just like she treats my friends.
When my mum is welcoming someone she welcomes them with a smile and kind words.
One more thing about my mum, my mum is an awesome and funny person and I am very happy to have her in my life.
